ABOUT

Richard Aldag
Founder and Principal

Richard Aldag holds a Ph.D. in Music from the City University of New York. Aldag has served as Executive Director of the Napa Valley Symphony; Executive Director of Lincoln Theater Napa Valley; Executive Director of the San Francisco Chamber

Orchestra, Executive Director of Los Lupeños de San José

and Director of the Silicon Valley Youth Conservatory at San José State University.  From 2000-2006, Aldag served as a Senior Development Manager for Nancy E. Quinn Associates a San Francisco-based fundraising and arts management consulting firm.

With more than three decades of experience as arts administrator and arts management consultant, Richard Aldag has raised over $10 million for organizations and personal projects, has managed organizations with budgets over $5 million, and has developed and implemented strategic business plans for arts companies of varying sizes.

Aldag is proud to announce the opening of a new comprehensive service for Bay Area arts organizations: Aldag Arts Consultants (AAC), which is now available to assist arts organizations of all sizes in areas that include:

 Development Planning

 Grantwriting/Grant Management

 Strategic Planning

 Organizational Development Consultation

 Board Development Consultation

 Classical Music Public Relations

 Young/New Executive Leadership Mentorship

 Project Management/Concert Production

 Theater Management Consultation

Aldag Arts Consultants can free time up for over-loaded executive directors and development directors, or provide seasoned management experience to new and/or small arts organizations, allowing artists to focus their efforts on the development of the artistic product.

In addition to the services listed above, Aldag Arts Consultants has a roster of consultants available to

provide services in:

 Bookkeeping

 Graphic Design/Production of Print Materials

 Web Design/Management

 Public Relations

 Event Planning

Between 2005 and 2007, RIchard Aldag was our organization's "grants virtuoso." Beginning with us at a time when we had limited in-house staff (2 FTEs and no development professionals), he served as a consultant, focusing on researching and securing grant funding and taking care of the reporting requirements for our ongoing support.

The results were phenomenal. He was the key player in our successful efforts to raise more than $2 million in foundation and government support for our successful $13.5 million capital campaign, and to double our annual grant funding to a six figure level. We got rave reviews from our funders for the reports he prepared, and when we began to build our own development department he worked seamlessly with our new staff people, ensuring the continuing growth and professionalization of the efforts he put into motion.

I would look forward to working with Richard in any circumstance.
